Salvation

Sculptural Ceramic Vase • 2012

Advised by Professor Eric Rempe

Salvation is a functional ceramic vase sculpted in the form of an emaciated woman. Through protruding ribs and hip bones, the body displays extreme hunger and desire. Raised arms emulate reaching for a remedy. When in use, the vase holds flowers through the hands and into the mouth of the woman, fulfilling the yearning that the form evokes.
