I make hand-cut analog collages primarily from books that I rescue from the stoops of my neighbors, not-so-heroically circumventing their journey to the landfill. For me, collage is both a hobby and an intentional design exercise. I relish the process of finding images, collecting clippings, cutting scraps, and pasting them into a final montage. I believe that collage is one of the most widely accessible forms of art for non-artists to communicate their ideas through visuals. There is massive potential for this medium to play an active role in facilitating the inclusion of non-designers in the design process.
